What is LASIK?

Our doctors at The Lasik Centers use the NIDEK CXIII excimer laser and Visumax for laser flaps.

Who is a candidate for LASIK?

  • If you are 18 years of age or older.
  • Have generally healthy eyes.
  • Able to lie flat without discomfort or difficulty.
  • Have a stable glasses prescription for 1 year or more.
  • Have a prescription between -11.00 diopters of nearsightedness, up to +5.00 of farsightedness or an astigmatism of up to 5.00 diopters.

Is LASIK safe?

LASIK is a safe and effective corrective eye care procedure with a growing rate of success due to continuous improvement in technologies, surgical skills, and optimal patient selection.

Is LASIK painful?

LASIK is not painful. Patients may experience mild discomfort and/or pressure during the procedure. You may also experience hazy and/or blurry vision immediately after your LASIK procedure but your vision should improve and become clear by the next morning.

How long is the recovery time after LASIK?

Most patients experience minimal down time after LASIK and are able to resume normal activities the next day. You may experience hazy and/or blurry vision immediately after your LASIK procedure but your vision should improve and become clear by the next morning.
